Garrett: Italian Classes in Los Feliz and Los Angeles

For the past 5 years I have enjoyed helping my students achieve fluency in the most logical and intuitive way possible. Having learned Italian myself at a young age, I feel that I am more able to help others along the same journey, although my circumstances were quite different. I entered Italian middle school at the age of 8 not speaking a word, and three months later I was fluent. I also attended all four years of high school in Italy, living a total of eight years in Rome. I still return to Italy for a month out of every year to visit my father who has been the Dean of Temple University Rome for over a decade; my mother is a professor so I suppose it runs in the veins. I have performed in Italian theatre productions, dubbed for Italian films, and also translated and interpreted professionally. I have a 2006 English degree with honors from UCLA, which helps me to accurately communicate the nuances of Italian language and grammar.

Valentina - Italian Classes in Hollywood and Los Angeles Area

Ciao! I was born and raised in Milan, Italy. I graduated from the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica del Piccolo Teatro di Milano with a degree in acting. I performed for several years before moving on to study filmmaking. While in film school I worked as a journalist, writing about theater and film for Condé Nast magazines. In 1997 I relocated to Los Angeles to teach Italian language and diction, focusing especially on opera singers and actors.

Marianna - Burbank, Los Feliz, Hollywood, Silver Lake, Los Angeles Area

Eccomi qua! Ciao ragazzi! Mi chiamo Marianna e vivo a Los Angeles da 3 anni. Ho una grande passione per la mia lingua: l’Italiano. That’s easy to understand isn’t it? If not you’d better get into my Italian classes as soon as possible! I am from Bologna, “casa” of Ducati Motors, Mortadella and lasagna and all the best food you can find in Italia! When I was in High School my French and Italian Teacher used to tell me that I would have become a “croupier” for my ability to learn, understand and speak languages well and fast and communicate easily with everybody. It was good to know that I might have had a future in Vegas. After graduating at the “Liceo Turistico di Bologna” I studied sociology at the “Università di Bologna”, the oldest university in Europa. At the same time I took a 2-year theatre course where I learned how to act and speak in perfect diction (si, Italiano of course!) I have worked privately as traduttore and Italian Teacher for the past 2 anni, and the past year with Strommen Tutoring and their method. I have taught little kids and adulti alike. I am a very open minded person but I take my job as a teacher seriously with a little sprinkle of fun! The best satisfaction I’ve ever had? The pride I have meeting my students week after week and seeing how much they improved their Italiano. I’d like to be proud of you as well… everybody can say buongiorno , buonasera, arrivederci, pasta e pizza e ciao! I’d like to teach you a little bit more…Italian is the most beautiful romantic language in the world. I will make you fall in love with it.

Carlo: Italian in West LA

My name is Carlo, I am Italian, 36. I relocated to L.A. about two years ago. After working for 12 year as a captain of Carabinieri, the Italian equivalent of FBI, I became an actor and screenwriter with a passion for teaching. I hold two master degrees, in “Law” and “Science of Security,” and I recently wrote my second novel which was published in Italy in February 2012. I'm patient, respectful and professional. What I love most about tutoring is understanding the students’ need, learning their uniqueness and lead them to the full awareness of their potential.

Sara - Italian Classes in Beverly Hills, Century City, Culver City and the Los Angeles Area

Ciao! I am a native Italian born in Castel San Giovanni, a small town just outside Milan. I have a degree in Foreign Language with an emphasis in English. I began teaching Italian while working with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and have continued to teach on a private level for several years. I feel that my real-world experience and travels enhance my lessons beyond the academic level and really make you feel as if you are in Italy!

Paola; Italian classes and Tutoring in Glendale, Pasedena, Los Feliz and the los Angeles Area

Ciao, mi chiamo Paola! I was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy and spent most of my life growing up there. In 2001 I moved to Venice where I received my Bachelor degree in East Asian Languages. After graduating my language skills were consolidated by several Chinese language classes at the Capital Normal University of Beijing in 2004, and Academic English classes at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. I enjoy teaching Italian as much as being a student of other languages. I look forward to sharing my passion for Italian with you.

Giacomo: Venice CA and Los Angeles Area

Ciao! My name is Giacomo. I have a doctorate in Italian Literature from L'Università di Bologna. I was born in a town near Modena, known for the amazing balsamic vinaigrette. I attended Liceo Scientifico (scientific high school) in Italy and the Università di Bologna where I obtained a doctorate in Literature and Philosophy, with a major in Films. Italian is my native language, but I always studied English seriously and I have now lived in Los Angeles for more than two years. I have always enjoyed learning other languages as much as I've enjoyed teaching my own and my culture. I use the Strommen method of developing the ear so that you can correct yourself and of teaching idioms that will allow you to readily connect with your students If you have a moment please take a look at my video and our small tutoring company's other videos .

Antonio: Italian in Gardena, Redondo beach, Manhattan beach

I was born in New York but I moved to Italy when I was five years old, and I had to begin first grade in a public school in Florence without knowing a word of Italian. It was painful at first, but I right away noticed that, in addition to developing a good vocabulary, knowing grammar and embracing it became a powerful learning tool. After doing poorly for the first two trimesters, I started speaking, writing and reading better than many of my native Italian classmates and it was then that I decided to make a career out of this beautiful language. The greatest piece of advice I can give to all students, regardless of their level, is to pay attention to Italian media. You can read a large variety of newspapers and magazines online, but my personal favorite is listening to the radio (also online and free of charge). There are many talk radio shows that can help you develop an ear for the language.

Letizia - Italian in Pasedena, South Pasedena, San Marino and more...

Ciao! Parliamo italiano! Mi Chiamo Letizia. I was born in Rome. Italy. I came to Los Angeles 8 years ago. I still have a restaurant in Italy and besides working woth Strommen I also teach at an elementary school. I have a lot of pacience with my students and I have a real “Roman” personality. I make my Italian classes fun and exciting and easy to learn! A presto!

Barbara - Italian in Los Feliz, Hollywood Hills, Hollywood and Los Angeles Area

Ciao! My name is Barbara, I am from Rome "the Eternal city", where I graduated in interpreting and languages ( French, English, German and 2 years Russian) from Scuola Interpreti, as well as in acting from the academy of dramatic arts. I have a passion for the performing arts, and I have been an actress in Italy for many years. I have a true passion for Italia; its culture, its way of life, its beauty and romantic language! Since moving to Los Angeles I have enjoyed teaching Italian to actors for theatre and film, to businessmen and many others in different fields. My classes are fun and upbeat, but effective and tailor made for you! Let me invite you to learn the most romantic language with me! Ci vediamo presto! (See you soon)

“A che livello stai?”

What level are you? Whether you are just beginning in Italian, or you are an advanced Italian student that wants to finally become fluent, a personalized curriculum and one-on-one attention is the most effective way to see and hear results. We offer a personalized class that is far superior to other group Italian Classes in Los Angeles, and less expensive as well.

“Parliamo, Parliamo, Parliamo!”

Let’s speak! The most important thing is speaking and listening in Italian, although that can be difficult to do here in Los Angeles. The more you speak the more confident you will become in your Italian skills. Not only will you learn ‘textbook Italian’ but also the all-important Italian idioms, slang, and colloquialisms. I find it amazing, but these terms are seldom taught even though they can be the most commonly used.  Other Italian Classes in Los Angeles, wont be able to teach you certain elements of Italian because you will be forced to have a different relationship with the teacher.

“Leggiamo, Scriviamo, e Parliamo: L’approccio ‘Multilaterale’”

Let’s read, write, and talk: the ‘multilateral’ approach. I believe in a ‘multilateral’ approach to learning languages. The most noticeable results come from learning like a native Italian student would. We will use a variety of Italian texts, from comic books to Italian literature. We will use reading exercises, unique writing exercises, and oral exercises we have developed through research and application.  Therefore we will engage your Italian ‘right brain’ through conversation and listening but we will also employ your ‘left brain’ advantageously. We also use more modern resources than other Italian classes in Los Angeles, we like to think of ourselves as the cool Italian school; we use the internet, films, and web tv as resources.

"Ti Serve Aiuto?"

Need help? Maybe all you need is a little help -or a lot! If you are taking an Italian online course in Los Angeles, or are stuck in a group class at one of the many other language schools like Beverly Hills Lingual Institute or the Language Door, you can do the same thing many other students have done; take some private Italian classes with Strommen Tutoring. You will find that you spend less, learn more, and eventually drop out of the group class to continue exclusively with us. We understand that there are many options out there when it comes to Italian Classes in Los Angeles, you have been fortunate to find this page because we are truly unique, effective, and affordable.
